Walls

I have a very fond memory of Madge sitting around the kitchen table at my parents house, 32 The Ridgeway.

The table in the kitchen is closer to one wall than the other. Madge was sitting on the side of the table that meant her back was up against the wall. She said “I think I might move chairs. I’ve always had a bit of trouble with walls.”

I replied, “it must be pretty tough for you, living in a house.”

She burst out laughing, and continued to giggle for the rest of the meal.

And that’s how I will always remember her; laughing, smiling, and giggling.
